Winston Jones, one of two men charged for murdering a police constable in broad daylight on a crowded street on Christmas Eve of 2004 is free tonight.

Yesterday in the Supreme Court Crown Counsel Audrey Matura asked Justice Troadio Gonzalez to enter a nolle prosequi motion because the DPP's office had insufficient evidence to proceed against Jones. Jones was charged along with Chadwick DeBride for murder. A jury has now been empanelled and DeBride's trial begins tomorrow.

The pair were accused of killing Constable Nedi Reymundo on December 24th of 2004. Reymundo was killed in the mid morning pre-Christmas rush at the corner of Bishop Street and West Canal. Reymundo had just gotten a haircut and was crossing the street when he was fatally shot.
