A 16-year-old female from Independence Village was viciously attacked at home last night - and police aren't sure who did it or why.
The victim is Haidy Nunez and her younger sister told police that at around 9 last night she left home to pick up food and left her sister doing her homework. But when she returned her sister had left. She ran out to get help and was on her way back with her stepfather she found her sister with a bloody towel around her neck staggering towards them. She collapsed and eventually had to be airlifted to the KHMH where she remains tonight receiving treatment.
Police say Nunez was stabbed three times to the neck and as a result of the injuries she cannot speak, and has not been able to tell investigators what happened.
