He found a man sleeping with his common-law wife and almost chopped him to death. And for that 43-year-old Jose Vasquez is without his common-law wife and without his freedom.
On Thursday night 25 year old Rosa Requena says she was sleeping inside her home located in Steadfast Village in the Stann Creek District when Vasquez, who works all the way in San Pedro, made a surprise trip home. But the surprise was apparently on Vasquez because he found Requena sleeping alongside 21-year-old Isais Larios.
Requena alleges that Vasquez, who is the father of three children, pulled out a knife and stabbed Larios to the chest. Rosa Requena says she tried to protect Larios and Vasquez cut her on her right arm.
Both Larios and Requena were taken to the Southern Regional Hospital for treatment. Requena was treated and released but Larios was admitted in a serious condition.
Jose Vasquez has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm.
