Tifara Smith Charged for Killing Her Brother

And while that murder happened Thursday night in Belize City, Thursday's first murder took place in Corozal Town in the afternoon. That's when police say 21-year-old Tifara Smith killed her 18-year-old brother, Dale Lino. Investigators recovered the kitchen knife which they believe she stabbed him with.

It happened on Thursday afternoon at the family home on 2nd Street in Corozal Town. Dale Lino was known to have a drug habit and had been accused just hours earlier of stealing his mother's television. His sister Tifara is described by her mother as being mentally unsound.

Still she has been charged for murder, and will re-appear in court later this month.
