Chinese Man Shot During Early Evening Robbery Attempt

An armed robbery attempt in the city early this evening has left a man in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound. It happened just before 5:00 at the corner of Vernon and Baghdad Streets when three men rode up to a Chinese man who was also on a bicycle.

They took out a pistol and ordered him to turn over his money. But sketchy reports indicate that he refused and there was some sort of a struggle which ended when one of the men shot him in the foot and fled without getting anything.

He was taken to the KHMH but tonight police say they don't have the victim's name. No arrests have been made.
