Harry Duesbury came to Belize from England about three decades ago as a civil engineer. He settled here and made his retirement home in San Andres Village in the Corozal District. The 81-year-old Duesbury was found dead here in his room at 6:30 am by his 62-year-old wife Abda, he sleeps in another room, downstairs. He had been stabbed 7 times to the chest.
Police believe that burglary may have been the motive and so far, a briefcase with cash, a pistol and a shotgun have been confirmed missing. But he was likely not killed by a robber. The home showed no signs of forced entry.
Police believe that a young man or men may be the culprit or culprits. 4 male minors, the oldest 15, have been detained.
