A pair of gunmen pulled off a major amed robbery this morning. It happened shortly after 6 am at the Esso Gas Station in Ladyville. The station had just opened when the men entered and ordered all employees to lie on the floor. Within ten minutes, they had helped themselves to all the money in the place - and it was plenty: $40,000 - the entire weekend's sales. They knew the layout well enough to go into the office at the back of the building where much of the cash is stored. Over $39,000 was in cash and another $600 in checks.

Martin Zuniga is a gas attendant at the service station and he gave us his eyewitness account.

Martin Zuniga, Gas Station Attendant
"We were just about to open the gas station, we were still taking out the things, and two guys came in and held up the place. So everything happened so fast that nobody could see any faces. It was just a quick thing. It is just good that no one got hurt."

Keith Swift,
They pulled out a gun?

Martin Zuniga,
"Yes both of them had."

Keith Swift,
Did they say anything to you?

Martin Zuniga,
"They put everybody to lie on the floor and they did what they had to do. That is about it."

Keith Swift,
How frightened were you?

Martin Zuniga,
"Well we were pretty calm. Nothing bad happened, they didn't really bust any shots or anything like that so everything went pretty smoothly and like I said, nobody was hurt."

Keith Swift,
How long were they in the store?

Martin Zuniga,
"Like 5 minutes. Quick thing: they came in, did what they had to do, and they went out."

The gunmen wore no masks and the entire heist was captured on the store's surveillance cameras. Police say it may have been pulled off with help from a disgruntled former employee. One person has been detained.
