Belize City police say they still have no idea who is the man who not only hit a primary school student but stole the child's bicycle. The eight-year-old boy was riding his grey beach cruiser on Baymen Avenue around seven fifteen on Monday night when the suspect only described as a dark complexioned young man wearing a white to shirt, jeans short pants, rode up on his bike alongside his victim and struck the boy on the left side of the neck.
The young victim was thrown off his bicycle and that is when the assailant grabbed the child's bike and rode away. The young boy was taken to the hospital where doctors certified the child's injury as harm. Police say they had initially detained a minor for the crime but due to the lack of evidence he was released. The stolen bike is valued at two hundred dollars.
