In less than one month, twenty eight year old San Pedro resident Andy Alford says he has been unjustifiably attacked by Belize City police. The most recent incident occurred around eight thirty on Friday night. Alford told 7NEWS that on that day he came to the old capital to campaign and later that night he had gone to socialize at Shooter's Club on Amara Avenue. But while at the establishment Alford claims a group of police officers pulled up. According to Alford, the cops first told him that they were looking for him for a long time over matter concerning a female who he says he does not know or what they are talking about. Alford alleges the cops then started beating him all over his body. Alford says the police continue to assault him even after they had locked him up at the station.

Andy Alford, Claims Police Brutality
"They were looking for me for a long time and I say for what? Because they say I was disrespecting one of his friends girlfriends. So I say well you better take me to the police station to clarify that. But by the time we reach the police station, they start to beat me up, beat me up for no reason and like around two the morning they release me and tell me let me go through the back and let me catch my first boat and go back home, you know. So I ask the men them why they did this, they had no reason to do this. This is the second time they did this to me. Last December, they burst my face open for no reason, for nothing again you know. I just want society to know that I just want the policemen to rest me and when they see me just left me alone on the street.

Right now my mouth bust up, my head back swell, my back is in serious pain and my faces well up over my eye. I have a picture right here if you want to this picture. I plan to take it to the higher authorities because the first one had gone just like that you know because at the time I was at the prison so I could not attend the case, so the case just gone, strike out so this one, I will try to be around for this one because like I say, dah lone silliness they do."

Andy Alford admits that he has been in trouble before but for only minor drug offenses.
