On August 1st of 2007 businessman Richard Hoare was murdered. A full 10 months later, no arrest has been made but there is a courtroom battle brewing over the assets of the deceased millionaire. In one corner is his family – namely his sisters and his 17 year old daughter. In another is his common-law wife Judith Williamson. His sisters say Williamson was Hoare’s girlfriend and therefore she shouldn’t have a say in the affairs of his estate.

But after hearing testimony from Hoare’s employees, Justice John Muria ruled today that Williamson can be considered, legally, as Hoare’s common-law wife. That paved the way for Muria to appoint Williamson as one of the administrators of Hoare’s estate. He also ruled that the administrators of the estate will have report on what they have done.

Hoare had a will but the beneficiaries were his parents who pre-deceased him. The battle over his estate is far from over as his sister reportedly intends to appeal. There has been no mention of what is included in his estate. It includes Baymen Cable Network which has already reportedly been sold. As we mentioned, no one has been charged for his murder.
