But first, residents in Placencia are breathing a lot easier tonight now that the decomposing body of 58 year old American Bruce Bedtelyon which had been causing a stink has been removed. It was removed on Saturday following an on-site post mortem. The results were inconclusive but police note there were no internal or external signs of violence to the body. Bruce Bedtelyon’s body was found on Thursday by his landlord. They called police but police refused to move the body until Saturday when a forensic team arrived. Bedtelyon had been living in Placencia for about 3 months and police don’t suspect that any foul play was involved.
