In other crime news....twenty two year old Belize City resident Windell Pope was shot in the right arm over the weekend and police suspect that he may know more than what he has been telling investigators.
He told police is that around eight thirty on Saturday night he was in front of his residence on Mopan Street talking with a female friend when a man rode by on a bicycle and fired four shots. While reports suggest that the victim knows his shooter, if he does Windell Pope is not talking. He has described the suspect to police only as a slim built dark skin man who was barefooted. Pope did not wait to be officially released from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital; he discharged himself.
And while Windell Pope may not be saying much about who shot him in another shooting incident over the long holiday weekend the victim, twenty three year old Dennis Tillett has told police who shot him.
But while Belize City Police may know who are being sought in this case they are not revealing their names as yet to the media.
7NEWS understands that the assailants who are from the Faber’s Road Extension area were riding on a bicycle when both approached their victim. One of the men took out a gun pointed it at Dennis Tillett and fired three shots luckily none of the bullets made their mark.
