The post mortem examination conducted on the remains of a body discovered on Friday has yielded no more new information that can assist Belmopan Police in their investigation. The cause of death remains unknown and just how long the person may have been dead could also not be determined. Belmopan Police report that the human remains which include a skull were found off a feeder road between miles fifty and fifty one on the Hummingbird Highway.

At the location, police observed a partially decomposed decapitated body of a man lying on the ground beside a small tree. The skull was seen hanging from a rope tied to a branch of the tree. A suspicious appearance, but Belmopan Police say because the post mortem examination could not determine the cause of death, their investigation remains open. They are now relying on the public’s assistance to help them at least determine the identity of the person.

Authorities say at the scene they found some clothing that may help in that identification. Among the remains police found a Puma brand red baseball cap, a green or aqua color t–shirt along with a maroon button up shirt and what appeared to be a long jeans pants.
