19 year old Tiffany Lewis is 2 months pregnant and tonight she is in jail for allegedly pulling a gun on another female. It happened during an argument yesterday between rival groups of females in the Port Loyola area. It’s a longstanding female feud and 29 year old Patricia Usher says that yesterday, she heard a banging on the door of her Arlington Drive home. She says she looked outside and saw Tiffany Lewis across the street. A quarrel ensued and she claims that Tiffany Lewis left and later returned with her boyfriend and a gun which she pointed at her. Lewis was arrested and today charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
She pleaded not guilty and bail was denied because it is a firearm offence. So the 19 year old who is pregnant is in jail tonight. Her mother Lisa Burgess says her daughter is innocent.
Lisa Burgess, Mother of Accused
“The people are saying my daughter hold gun on them. I said that is so sad after my daughter they beat up her and she left it at that and the girls

are still interfering with her and it seems this cannot stop. That is what I told the people there, it seems this thing is not stopping. It seems that nobody can stop these girls on Caesar Ridge Road.”
Keith Swift,
“So you don’t believe your daughter pulled a gun on this lady?”
Lisa Burgess,
“No sir. That little girl doesn’t know nothing about those stuff because this is something new. Belizean girls don’t usually have guns and things. Why would this big lady tell lie on this child? That is so sad.”
Keith Swift,
“Why are you so sure your daughter didn’t pull a gun on them?”
Lisa Burgess,
“She is not that kind of people. For example these girls, some of them live on Caesar Ridge and we have two ways to my house and my daughter doesn’t take that way, she comes this way because she doesn’t want the trouble. It is a fight that was going on from three years ago that even one of them juked her in her jaw before.”
Keith Swift,
“Mam tonight your daughter is going to be remanded to prison fro aggravated assault with a firearm.”
Lisa Burgess,
“I am so sad because it was going to be death or jail because these girls are not stopping and it seems nobody can stop them.”
Tiffany Lewis was remanded to prison until February 2nd. Her attorney is Dickie Bradley who took the case pro bono. Coincidentally, Lisa Burgess says she had asked the Conscious Youth Development Program to intervene in the war between groups of girls and a meeting was scheduled for tomorrow. Of course no one knows why the rival groups of girls are at war.
