And as we told you there were three shootings on East Canal this weekend. The third occurred in broad daylight this morning between Prince and King Streets. No one was injured and Police Press Officer Sgt. Fitzroy Yearwood told us more.

“They were chasing someone from Prince Street. They ran into East Canal. They were in pursuit of him and they fired several shots. None hit him and of the two assailants only one had a firearm. That person luckily got away and the gunmen themselves fled the scene. Presently we have two persons in custody that we are questioning to find out if they were the assailants in this crime.
We have increased patrols in this area. Actually patrols have been increased in this area since the killing of Kelly (Jeffrey) some weeks ago and it will not stop. This is almost in the downtown area and so you will just see more officers on patrol in this area.”
