Last night we also told you about the find of a major trove of what are believed to be stolen electronic items found in a home at #10 Pinks Alley.
Well those items are stilly only believed to have been stolen - but the gun that was found in the home is definitely prohibited and all four persons who were present in the house were charged for it today.
Two adults and two minors were charged with keeping a prohibited firearm and having ammunition without a gun license, when they appeared today in the #3 Magistrate's court.
The adults are 22 year old Charles Neal and his brother, 18 year old Shane Young. One of the minors who is 16 is the brother of both Neal and Young. The other minor is a 14 year old primary school student. All four pleaded not guilty to the charges. The adults were remanded to Belize Central Prison, while the minors were remanded to youth hostel. They are to return to court on December 30th.
The group was charged after police reported that they found a homemade shotgun, and 2 rounds of 9 millimeter caliber ammunition. That's what went to court today, but in the police press release issued yesterday, police claimed they had found a.380 caliber pistol with adaptations hidden under two mattresses.
