We always reports on workshops - which are mostly just talk-shops, but one unique workshop sponsored by the Mexican embassy, provided training to a group of 20 women from different communities in the Belmopan area, including Salvapan, Maya mopan and San Martin. They received instruction on the use and application of medicinal plants, as well as the production and marketing of these products. After three days of training the women were showing off their products which included soap that protects against mosquito bites, anti-dandruff and hair loss shampoo, products to treat allergy and acne, as well as a cream to treat snake bites and rheumatism.

The workshop which started this Monday, November 22nd, was held at the Lion's Club in Belmopan and concluded yesterday, November 24th.

The women are from the Cultural Regional Institution of Belize located in San Martin, Belmopan. It promotes culture, arts and education for the Mayan community.
