Christmas week in the city started with the worst kind of bang last night as gunshots rang out on the southside. There are also murders in the south and west of the country to report - but we'll start in the city.

Last night's victim, 46 year old Anthony Macdonald had been shot in the forehead. Andrea Polanco tried to find out why the father of three was targeted:…

Andrea Polanco, Reporting
It was here, at the corner of Dean Street and Amara Avenue around nine last night that forty six year old, security guard, Anthony 'Breakdance' McDonald was riding his bike heading towards East Collet Canal when a man rode up behind him and fired a shot that caught him in the forehead.

McDonald told his common-law wife that he was going to drop off a food for a friend but he never made it back home, because shortly after he left he was shot:

Sherlette Gabourel, Common-Law-Wife
"The last time I saw him was last night when I was pressing my uniform to get ready to go to work and he told me he was going to take food to one of his friends and when I got ready I was downstairs waiting for him to come home and when I called his phone all I heard was the siren and nobody answering and at the same time his friend drop by and he told me that he just got shot."

McDonald was rushed to the KHMH where Gaboural met him and took this picture shortly before he died around ten:

Sherlette Gabourel, Common-Law-Wife

"I went to the hospital and he was there just fighting for his life, he couldn't talk at all."

Why would anyone want to kill 'Break dance'? Well, that is what his family wants to know because they said he was a nice person and they found all his belongings on him:

Andrea Polanco
"Do you know if he had any conflict with anybody?"

Sherlette Gabourel, Common-Law-Wife
"Well not that I know of. I know he is a nice person, he can go anywhere, on any block, he is a very friendly person and he doesn't have anything with anybody so I don't see how this could ever happen because everybody know him as "Breakdance" so I don't understand how this happened and why and who could do it; I don't know. He doesn't have any problems with anybody. I don't know who did it, I don't know who could ever do something horrible like that."

Andrea Polanco
"So they found his phone and everything else that he had on him."

Sherlette Gabourel, Common-Law-Wife
"His phone, he had on some jewelry. I got everything, his wallet, everything."

Andrea Polanco
"So it wasn't robbery?"

Sherlette Gabourel, Common-Law-Wife
"Well I don't know if it's a robbery, I can't say, don't really know."

So what could've led to his death? Well the family said that they heard McDonald had a "yellow bag"- a bag he didn't have with him when he left home but was seen with it shortly before he was killed. But when his body was found-the bag wasn't there:

Sherlette Gabourel, Common-Law-Wife
"There was a yellow bag but I don't know what was in the bag, I did not receive the bag. I don't know where it is."

Andrea Polanco
"So when he left home he had this yellow bag with him?"

Sherlette Gabourel, Common-Law-Wife
"No he didn't have the yellow bag with him, he just had the food that he was carrying for his friend."

Family Friend
"He never did have that yellow bag in his hand, according to what they tell us he didn't have that yellow bag in his hand. We don't know who is the person that he got the yellow bag from. We are trying to find out; maybe the person that he got the yellow bag from is the clue to it. We don't know who it is."

Andrea Polanco
"So how did you learn about this yellow bag?"

Family Friend
"We learn about this yellow bag because someone said that they saw him with this yellow bag in his hand and we know he didn't leave home with any yellow bag in his hand."

Andrea Polanco
"So this was shortly before he was killed they saw him?"

Family Friend
"Yes, they saw the bag in his hand. We don't know what is in the bag. We don't know what is the mystery between bag and who he went to see or what is the problem."

Andrea Polanco
"So it had to be that he made a stop before he was killed."

Family Friend
"He made a stop before he was killed. He had to make a stop because all he had in his hand was food. He didn't have ant yellow bag when he left from home."

Andrea Polanco
"So it could very well be that they killed him because of this bag."

Family Friend
"We don't know if it is that. We are just presuming that."
