Around 9 this morning Sittee River Police visited a house across the river where they saw the lifeless body of fifty six year old American National Miriam Simi.
Simi was found nude lying face down on a bed in a pool of blood and her feet were hanging on the floor. The police also saw blood on the floor and discovered the place slightly ransacked. Initial investigations revealed that Simi's employee arrived at the river and shouted for her to pick him up on the other side as she always does, but there was no answer. The employee eventually made his way over with the help of a neighbor and he found the lower flat of the house locked up but saw the door on the upper flat open. The employee saw Simi on the floor and called the police.
Simi's body was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital and now awaits a post mortem. Foul play is suspected and police investigations continue.
