Opponents of Dr. Bertie Chimilio did all they could to fight him down from the FFB Leadership - but once again, he's emerged victorious and tonight there is a new FFB Executive Committee.

On Saturday the FFB held their extra ordinary congress at their headquarters in Belmopan where they elected the new executive. Dr Bertie Chimilio was elected as President for another term. Voted in as Senior Vice President was Bernaldino Pech, Vice President - David Jones, Members: John Moody and Michael Peyrefitte.

Last Friday the Ministry of Sports sent out a release expressing concerns over the election because they felt that it wasn't in conformity with the FFB statutes and there were questions concerning the disqualification of the slate nominated by the BPFL.

Those cries fell on deaf ears, as the FFB went ahead with the elections this past weekend. The Ministry of Sports says that following all rules and regulations, in January of next year the FFB committee members will have to provide evidence to show that they were eligible for elections and duly elected.

But for now, the new committee remains and will be in charge.
