Police have made another arrest for the double murders of 34 year old IAN MARTINEZ, and 17 year old DANIEL PUERTO that happened 12 days ago.
As we reported, Jeffrey Flowers has already been arrested and charged for murder, and today 23 year old DERRICK KUYLEN, of #79 Baghdad Street was also charged for two counts of Murder; and one count each of Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm; and Use of Deadly Means of Harm for shooting Darnell Puerto, who survived.
As we've reported, on the evening of Friday, February Fourth at 6:00 pm, Martinez - who is a mechanic, had just finished dropping off a car and stopped to speak with the Puerto twins - who are acquaintances - in front of their home at the corner of Vernon and Tibruce streets.
At the same time, two men pulled up in a car and opened fire on the trio. Martinez was injured and then shot to the head when he went to try and protect his daughter who was waiting for him in the front seat of the car. He never made it to the car, but fortunately she was not hurt.
Police believe the shooting was motivated by a feud the twins had with Flowers a few weeks earlier….
