There were two murders this weekend - within four hours of each other - the first happened in The Taylor's Alley area on Saturday night around 10:00 pm. That murder seems to have been motivated by an ongoing beef - and we'll have details shortly.
But first to the story of the killing of a taxi-man - and again, there is no rhyme or reason to this one: it looks like 44 year old Kirk Belisle was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when his vehicle shut down on La Croix street on Sunday morning at 1:44 am.

44 year old Kirk Belisle was found on La Croix Boulevard - around 1:44 on Sunday morning.
He was lying on the ground - dead - beside his blue 4-door Chevy Nova taxicab. With a gunshot wound to the back of his head. Today the question is who would want to kill this 44 year old taxi driver?

"He is usually out hustling taxi jobs. He is a man that work hard for what he wants, so that is what he does - he run his taxi cab at night. That is why you would find out of his home at that time of night."
According to one of his good friends- Belisle only runs taxi in the nighttime.
On the night of his murder, it is believed he was heading home, when he began experiencing car troubles - which caused him to stop on La Croix Boulevard - just a couple blocks away from home.

"Actually it was Sunday morning early around 3:30 I got the news. My brother call me and say that they just shoot up Kirk. The news that I gather around is that he had mechanical problems and that he got out of the car to fix the problem - some guys were helping him. That is when the some other guys pass and start shooting. That is what I understand what happen."
Belisle was being assisted by a group of men on La Croix Boulevard- when a stranger rode up on a bicycle and started firing several shots at them.
He was hit to the back of his head and died on the spot.
Today his friend told us, he was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Kirk is a worker and the end of the day he stays at home, he don't trouble anybody, so you couldn't say that the man was involved in anything kind of mishaps with gang or nothing like that. As a matter of fact he was my sparring partner when it comes to playing checkers. The man always wants to win the game and I always want to win too. He was a fun person, he never got into a quarrel or anything like that, that is how I know the man, he was a good person. He didn't have any enemies. I don't know why it happen like that."

"Yeah, I think so; he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I think he was going home, because it happens around the area where he lives. Maybe the car shutdown and he decide to fix it there and just them someone just step up and bam."
Belisle was the father of one child.
