When a police man was held up, shot and robbed of his weapon in the Belama substation at the end of March, it was an unprecedented crime.

Now, police say they have the men who are responsible for it. They are Karim Morris, Linsford Acosta and Eldon Smith. As we reported on Friday, the trio was picked up on Thursday. Police interrogated them and they ended up leading the officers to a mangrove area near the river in Belama Phase III where constable White's stolen 38 Revolver along with four live rounds were recovered.

Morris and Acosta were charged for attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm and robbery. Morris and Smith were charged with KEPT FIREARM and ammunition WITHOUT A LICENSE.

Because guns are involved, all three were remanded into custody until May 12th.
