The good news on this Monday night is that for the first time in over five weeks - there was no explosion of violence in the city on the weekend: no one was shot, no one was killed.
Two men were threatened with guns - but we'll tell you about that later. The news today though is about a Chinese grocer who shot an unruly customer.
It happened this afternoon just before three at Plum Tree Restaurant - which is just across form Publics on East Canal. 26 year old Julius Foreman was having a dispute with Tong Wu Tan - the restaurant's owner - who is also described as his friend. Foreman was reportedly banging on the counter - and then struck Tan in the head.
Well the restaurant owner wouldn't stand for it - he took out his licensed forearm and shot Foreman in the leg. Through his burglar bars he told us why:...

"He knocked me in my head and then I shot him in the foot."

"You know him?"
Tang Wu Chung, Shot unruly customer
"Every time he comes here to drink beers but sometimes he don't want to pay."
Reporter
"You ask him to pay today?"
Tang Wu Chung, Shot unruly customer
"Today he paid for the beers."
34 year old Tan has been detained by police - who will have to determine whether the restaurant owner was justified in shooting a man for hitting him in the head. Foreman is in the hospital being treated for his wound.
