


Yesterday, police caught 2 men with over 16 pounds of marijuana on the Western Highway. According to police, at around 8:10 p.m., the officers were on checkpoint duty at the Central Farm area of the highway, when they intercepted a Burgundy Jeep Cherokee.
Inside the Vehicle were 27 year-old Hugo Castaneda, a businessman of #1 Central American Boulevard, and his passenger, 25 year-old Mason Patnett, a construction worker of Falcon Street.
When the officers searched the tire compartment of the vehicle they found a crocus sack filled with marijuana - 16.04 pounds to be exact.
The officers also searched both men, where they found $1,429 on Castaneda, and $570 on Patnett. Both men have since been charged with the drug trafficking.
