A 32 year old Camalote banana vendor was knocked down and killed yesterday evening. The victim is Edwin Najaro also known as "Roquiel" It happened at the entrance of Belmopan. An employee of Invictus Solutions Limited captured the aftermath in this video. Najaro was on his bicycle heading home when a Joseph Penner hit him over in his Dodge Ram pickup truck. Courtney Weatherburne has more.
If he wasn't out selling bananas, Edwin Najaro would be at his zinc shack right next to his mom's wooden house. He dedicated his life to taking care of her but, now Gloria Najaro is on her own.

Najaro was knocked down and killed yesterday evening after 5:00 in front of Yim Saan Restaurant at the entrance of Belmopan. Information is Najaro had finished chopping a yard in Salvapan and was heading home on his bike with a puppy, when this Dodge RAM struck him. The family believes the driver was speeding.

"When we reach the police station, they told us that the man that hit me said that my uncle had the fault but we don't think he had the fault but he always used to drive to Belmopan, always go to Belmopan and nothing ever happened to him so I don't understand how that happened."

"Yes always on his bicycle, he is never in any accident always on his bike. I know they have the fault, yeah, I know the man was speeding because they always like speed up. I just hope police just try investigate because we don't want it to stay like this."

Najaro didn't have any children. He had been living in his mother's Camalote yard for about 10 years.
