ACP Joseph Myvett - Head, NCIB
"Belmopan Police was called to the scene of an accident on the Hummingbird Highway just outside Belmopan near one of the roundabouts where upon arrival a black and white Dodge pickup was seen on the right hand side of the highway which was south bound whilst a little bit in front of the vehicle a Hispanic male was seen on the road with apparent head and body injuries. The deceased was riding his bicycle in a northerly direction, however traffic was congested I believe that some work was being done on the Roaring Creek Bridge hence causing the congestion in traffic. As a result he swerved across the highway in order to go to the other side which resulted in him being knocked down. The driver of the pickup at the time was one Joseph Penner, 20 years of Agua Viva which somewhere in the area just outside Belmopan."
Penner was taken to court and granted bail of $10,000. The case has been adjourned until January 28th 2019.
