So, what will Pablo Marin, the UDP Corozal Bay Area Rep., do with his Christmas Cheer allocation of $25,000? That’s what we asked him today when we caught up with him at another event.
He said that he is already planning his annual Christmas parade, and a Christmas party for his constituents, where he will be providing a few gifts for his voters:
Hon. Pablo Marin - Minister of Health
"All ministers, what I know, will get $25,000. The non-members, or the Opposition, will get half the amount, as usual. My money is allocated to already for me to do the Christmas party for the kids. And you know I have a big Christmas parade. It’s very expensive. I have about 25 people already who put their names to be part of the program. We have about 8 marching bands. That is about maybe 8 to $9,000 only on that. The toys that I buy is about maybe 15,000 to 20,000 toys. I try to give toys, and I invite everybody from Corozal Bay."

"There is always this concern that the Government is spending money that could be placed elsewhere."
Pablo Marin
"I think the time for us to look at the finance, we do have a lot of things that we need to do, but Christmas has always been apart for us to give to the kids. There’s a lot of kids who don’t receive not even 1 toy. So, what we do, we give them 1 toy. We make them feel the love of the country and the nation. I don’t see a waste of money. When I see a child smiling, when I see a child taking a toy, I don’t see that as throwing away the money."
