You don't need to read my diary to know that it's been a very tough few days for my family and I sure enough, when your private life explodes into what some would wish to make a public scandal it's a very tough place to be.
But, I'm an adult and I have to face the blows, but when a child faces that kind of public evisceration, it's more than cruel. There is a very disturbing trend of females being exposed and exploited. And tonight it is affecting a teenaged girl and her family very deeply.
This weekend, a video went viral of the minor in her high school uniform engaged in a sex act. It's gotten her suspended from school - and tonight the Ministry of Human Development, which is responsible for women and children, is trying to bring charges against the male in the video. Minister Boots Martinez told us more today:..
Hon. Anthony "Boots" Martinez, Minister of Women and Children
"Yes I've become aware of this striking and sad case and one involving a child who is a minor. There are pictures circulating on the internet and that is terrible. Our ministry and myself condemned that act terribly. Our ministry have launched a full fledge investigation into the matter and I believe that we will ger criminal charges from that incident."

"There are not laws on the books right now for what is called revenge porn, I mean when you circulate something calculated to hurt someone, but the criminal charge would be - because it's a minor."
Hon. Anthony "Boots" Martinez
"Because it's a minor, we don't know who sent out the video and so we launched a full investigation in terms of what is deemed to be the act that is done to a minor and that is terrible, horrible and I really and truly hope that men and other people could respect especially children. Man, that is a demoralizing sort of thing to that child."
Reporter
"But there also needs to be an update on the laws to penalized those men or those individuals who circulate such videos."
Hon. Anthony "Boots" Martinez
"Yes, that is very important in my view for us to look quickly in terms of in my view to act in the proper manner to people who are the victims of that and this one is worse, because this is a minor and so I think coming out of this is the fact that I think that we might be able to get criminal charges from this one."
Reporter
"Those charges may be well and good, but a child's life has been substantially affected. The child is, I am told is out of school?"
Hon. Anthony "Boots" Martinez
"Yes, I don't know the details of it, but I understand that the child is out of school."
Martinez made a personal appeal to all those who have that video and any video of someone's private business to delete it.
Along that same line, Channel 7 issued a statement today, saying, quote, "there is a wider pattern of public shaming of women and girls through social media and messaging services. This must end and the end starts with you. We join others in saying, if you receive content that violates someone else's privacy, delete it."
