At the top of the news, we told you all about the murder of a tourist on San Pedro and all the international fallout it's causing for the tourist industry.
Well, much further afield, there's another crime against a tourist - fortunately this one is not a murder. But it's news because it happened in Sarteneja - as laid back a place as you will find and usually a safe haven for visitors and locals.
A Facebook news site called Corozal Daily reports that yesterday a young, male tourist was beaten and robbed while he slept in a hammock on the beach.
Corozal Daily reports that "the young tourist was bleeding from his ear and seemed to be shaken and disoriented (and) later fell unconscious, on his way to the Corozal Hospital."
He was transferred to the KHMH in Belize City.
