While Amoa's life was lost, another man survived a shooting this afternoon, just before 3:00 on Ordonez Street - in the same, red hot Martin's area.
The victim, 29-year-old Charles Young, was on Ordonez Street when a gunman opened fire on him. Fortunately, he was not seriously injured and received only a graze in his back and right upper arm. He was discharged from the hospital earlier this evening.
While no motive is known at this time, or if he was indeed the intended target, he is no stranger to the law. Back in 2011 he was charged for a double murder in Belize City. In 2015, he walked from those charges. He has also been shot at before.
And, there is the news of one more city shooting which happened less than half an hour ago on west Collett Canal in the Mesopotamia area. The victim was rushed to the KHMH and reports at this hour are that he has died.
