And while the health of the west may be well managed, the safety of one of its citizens is in dire jeopardy. It's the case of 69-year-old Miguel Caseros who was tied up by his neighbors on New Year's Day and then vanished without a trace.

We heard more about Caseros from ACP Myvette at yesterday's press brief.

ACPJoseph Myvete, Head NCIB

"On the first of January sometime around 3 p.m one Carlos Gomez of a Benque Viejo town address visited the Benque Viejo police station and reported that he had visited his farm on the Hydro road which is the Arenal road and whilst there he met two other persons including one Miguel Caseros a 69 year old who resides at a nearby farm, apparently they were socializing when Caseros got into a dispute with one of those persons and he left towards his farm and returned with a pellet gun and upon his return he discharged the Pellet gun in the direction of one of those persons hitting him in the abdomen, as a result a struggle ensued and he was subdued by those persons and tied up after which it is alleged that they then left the area and wen to Benque Viejo police where they made this report apparently on their arrival back at the farm Mr. Caseros was not found since then a team of police and family members have been conducting searches within the entire area but he has not been seen or heard from since."

"At this point in time we are looking at all angles and those persons who I spoke about are currently detained pending this investigation."

As you heard Casero's neighbors were detained for further questioning.
