Last week, showed you the ordeal that 26-year-old Aretha Hamilton, a Belize City resident, went through with police last Tuesday night.
Hamilton reportedly got caught up in a domestic dispute at her aunt's house, in which another woman attacked her with a machete. She ran onto Mahogany Street, and that's around the time when the police arrived. The cops were called in to keep the peace, but Hamilton is alleging, that the responding officers treated her like the guilty party, manhandling her and allegedly clubbed her in the mouth with a gun and knocked out one of her teeth. And it was all caught on camera.
The press asked the Police Commissioner about the case today. Here's what he had to say:
Chester Williams- Commissioner of Police

"I'm not familiar with that matter but I saw it on the news where the young lady was complaining and she showed a picture of her tooth in her hand. I have referred that matter to PSB. So they are looking at it and if what she said is true then the police will have be held accountable."
