And while the Prime Minister was careful to guard his tongue when speaking about teachers who may have an anti-vaxx sentiment, he certainly didn't bite his tongue last week when he said that unionist Jackie Willoughby should, quote, "shut up!" Today we asked him if he's considering taking back his hard words:

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"Do you wish to distance yourself from your much criticized remarks about one union leader who stood up and spoke about Dr. Manza and you said that she should shut up."

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"I appreciate that the media and Belizeans hold me as prime minister and my government to a higher standard. Unlike the way the former prime minister and the present leader of the opposition and the UDP behaved. So, I appreciate on that part. Now I think that the best thing that I can do is I will invite Miss Willoughby and some of the people on the senior members of the public service after the municipal elections. I will sit down with them, drink some coffee and let them say what is their issues and try to see how best we could solve it."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"Will you apologize at that forum?"

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"As I said I am happy that you are holding me to a higher standard and I am prepared to meet with them, but my question has been where have they been all this time."
