The ComPol was a bit more forthcoming when we asked about protests on social media that, Melonie Magdaleno, the daughter of his Deputy Commissioner, Dezerie Phillips-Magdaleno, was somehow getting special treatment. There are suggestions that the Deputy's daughter's career as a cop got an unfair head-start over other candidates due to her connections.
When we asked about it today, the Commissioner said that it is all mischief-making:

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"From time immemorial, we have had several police officers who enter the police department through the special constable program, or as security officers. I can tell you that Mr. Jeffries, who rose all the way to the rank of Commissioner of Police, came into the department through the police band, as a bandmaster. We have several others who are now high-ranking officers who also came in through that program. Mrs. Magdaleno's daughter has been working with the police department for over 10 years as a security officer. She, just like many, many others, applied for and was issued with regulation numbers. And as far as we are concerned, the fact that she had been a security officer for over 10 years working with the police, is better training and knowledge than any recruit who comes out of the academy because they have been doing the job for over 10 years. What would make her different? Is it because, 1, she is the daughter of Mrs. Magdaleno, or 2, because she is a woman? I don't know. People need to stop trying to create mischief."
