And that shooting follows the murder of 19-year-old Stephan Castillo. The teenager was killed while he was at work on Fabers Road. He sustained over a dozen gunshot wounds and police found his body wedged between two vehicles.
Yesterday, you heard from his mother and today, the ComPol gave the preliminary details on the investigation.

"Police were in the area and police pursued a vehicle and during the pursuit a firearm was thrown from the vehicle which the police recovered - it was a nine millimeter pistol believed to be the weapon of choice in committing the murder. Police later intercepted the vehicle and inside was Orel Leslie. He is currently in police custody and we are looking for five other persons who we believe were also inside the vehicle with him and those persons are currently being treated as the suspects in that particular murder."

"You say the name, you disclosed the name of a suspect. That tells me that you all intend to bring charges."

"Like I said he is a suspect, a person on interest and the investigators are going to do what needs to be done to see if we can tie the evidence together with a view to levy charges against him but the very least we suspect he should be charged with the firearm offence while we do the investigation of the murder."

"Are you saying that he was targeted just because they found a man from the PIV area who was straying?"

"I didnt say the young man was straying, he was gainfully employed."

"And working outside his zone."

"And for the most part you see a young man trying to make an honest living working - you should never go and target a man who is trying to make an honest living. If it were that they had gone after the person who did the killing that would have been a different story - yes the young man may be affiliated but he wasn't the one involved in the previous murder s so why go after him? So it goes to show the extent to which some of these young men would go to just prove themselves and we have to do something about it."
