As we told you earlier - it has been a day of dramatic developments in San Pedro Town, where Jasmin Hartin has been charged for Manslaughter by negligence in the killing of Superintendent Henry Jemmott.
Tonight, she is back in the San Pedro cell block - after she was denied bail and ordered to be remanded to prison. It was a surprising development since bail is usually granted for such an offence. But, the police prosecutor argues that Hartin, who is a Canadian is a flight risk. The Magistrate deliberated and found that she had no jurisdiction and also noted the prevalence of the crime.
Cherisse Halsall remains on Jasmine Alert and has the latest from the island:
It's all quiet at the San Pedro police station right now in the moments after the late evening arraignment of Jasmine Hartin.
At this hour, she remains inside the police station where she's spent the better part of 4 days. As we've told you the news tonight is that she's been denied bail and therefore remanded to the Hattieville prison. In the normal course, she will be transferred from the island to the inland prison tomorrow.
Our team remains on the island - and we'll keep following the story tomorrow.
