Today, the new president, Dean Flowers who is under attack did respond specifically to those complaints - and we'll have that for your tomorrow.

But, here are his general comments about Gerald Henry's public upbraiding of his former union executive today:

Dean Flowers, President, PSU

"And which sadly a past president who clearly is embarrassing himself and very bitter because he couldn't get the support of membership for a second term and is out there now as I stated. It's really a sad situation, because he is my brother and I need to treat him as a brother in this union and so I do not wish to comment on his person and his behavior, but I will only say as I stated earlier his actions were reckless and they were prejudicial to the interest of this union and sadly now they will have to be referred to for consideration. Clearly, his actions are undermining the interest of the union and we have received reports as of Friday for the council to look at those comments and this morning, clearly, I think he went further. I also want to state that it is my humble hope that the former president sought permission from his CEO in the ministry of finance since he is still employed with the audit department, but he clearly couldn't have been speaking for and on behalf of the PSU because clearly his time has expired. But article 54 of the public service regulation is clear: A public officer shall secure prior clearance from the chief executive officer or head of department, so I hope he reached out to Dorothy Bradley this morning to make statements to the press regarding public policy. I also want to caution the good brother, because he is a member of this union and we will defend him if and when necessary."

"Sounds like you are throwing him under the bus, Dean."

Dean Flowers, President, PSU
"No, I am a president and I represent every single member and we will, if necessary defend him. Brother Henry should have been well aware that he was subjected to the rules and regulations of the public service union before he made certain misleading statements and now that he has reverted to his substantial post, he should be warned that he is now govern under the public service regulation and so I hope that with this information he will carry on smarter and wiser. If it is that he is disgruntled over the fact that he lost the confidence of membership, there are more mature ways in which he could have dealt with it, but going down this road not only puts the union in negative light, but it highlights the kind of bitter and soar loser that really and truly he has turned out to be."
