But while Tizol's identity was discovered, police still are not sure whose body was found floating off the coast of Placencia. Initial reports were that it may have been the pilot of the narco jet that crashed landed almost two weeks ago.

But ACP Myvett told us that, because the body was found in the sea, it is almost impossible to ID it - and because only half of the body was found, they aren't even able to tell the gender.

"Do police believe that this is now the pilot from that plane that crashed off the coast of Placencia."

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"I do not think that we would arrive at that at this point in time. We know though that we do not have anyone missing at sea in that area. The body has just been brought on land since this morning and is being taken to the morgue where the postmortem is schedule to be held."

"The body seemed to have been in the sea for sometime now so what was found would not reveal any form of identification or distinguishing marks."

"This was found somewhere off a caye. Which would be somewhere in the vicinity of some 15 miles off the coast of Placencia."

Reporter:
"Who found the body?"

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"Coast Guard officers."

"There was no clothing on what was found, the portion of the body that was found did not have any clothing or disguising marks."

Reporter:
"So only a portion of the body was found?"

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"Yes."

Reporter:
"Upper, lower...?"

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB
"Upper."
