And yet another body was found, this one just outside Lemonal Village on Saturday morning. He had been the victim of a hit and run involving a motorcyclist.

87-year-old Thomas Sutherland, as known as "Shugga," had been walking home on Friday night when the incident occurred. But rather than assist, the suspect simply stashed his motorcycle and went back home - right in the village. Courtney Menzies went up there today and has this story.

The family of 87-year-old Thomas "Shugga" Sutherland believes he may have been alive today if he had received medical attention after he was knocked down on Friday night here on the Lemonal road.

But rather than get help, the suspect fled the scene, stashing his motorcycle only 200 yards away from where he left Sutherland to die.

The elderly man's family did not get the news until about 5:30 Saturday morning, but believed he was killed some time between 10pm and 1am the night before.

And while they understand that accidents - especially at night - are sometimes unavoidable, they are upset at the way he was left on the side of the road, in some bushes. Now, their Lemonal community is in mourning since Sutherland, who lived a few miles outside the village, was well known and well loved.

"I was in my bed the morning when I got the news."

Courtney Menzies:
"Around what time did it happen?"

Voice of: Olive Banner, Niece of Deceased
"I got the call after 6 the morning."

Courtney Menzies:
"He was just walking when it happened or was he going somewhere particular?"

Olive Banner, Niece of Deceased
"I think he was coming from out the village, going home. My uncle was a loving, caring, generous person. He likes to run jokes with everyone he meets, everyone can say he was - always make you laugh then."

"We feel sad to know he was knocked down and left there. Accident do happen."

Courtney Menzies:
"So you wish the person would have at least stayed or called for help."

Olive Banner, Niece of Deceased
"Yes because maybe he could have gotten help."

According to another family member, Sutherland had been drinking in the village earlier that night. In the morning, it was a passing bus that found his body - strewn on the sign of the pavement like roadkill.

He also told us that the suspect is from the village, and is another relative of the deceased. Police say they are expecting to charge him by the end of today.

Senior Supt Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head NCIB
"An investigation was carried into the matter which revealed that the deceased was hit by a motorcycle in the area after which the person on the motorcycle fled from the area. Also, a search of the area led to the recovery of the said motorcycle with damages. One person is now in custody and will be charged formally sometime today."

"We know that he was from that area, he was walking on the road when he was hit by this motorcycle."

Sutherland had no children, but reportedly took care of all his nieces and nephews like his own.

Sutherland's relative explained to us that many motorcyclists were known to drag race along the mostly deserted paved road leading to the village.
