Minor With A Weapon

Tonight, a male minor is facing a firearm offense and remand at the Belize Central Prison. That's after he was busted by police with an unlicensed weapon.

At 3:00 on Saturday afternoon, police were on routine patrol in a community in the Cayo District. That's when they spotted a young man sitting inside a parked bus. When the cops pulled up, they saw the man throw away a plastic bag through the bus window.

The officers then escorted him to the area where the bag landed, and when they retrieved it, they found this black and gold, Daewoo brand, 9 millimetre pistol. The weapon had a gold extended magazine, which contained 10 live rounds of ammunition.

The minor was formally arrested and charged for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
