The other traffic fatality happened early this morning near the Toledo Village of Big Falls.
At around 6:00 a Chevy Equinox hit a man on a motorbike.
Driver 26-year-old George Ortega, a resident of Punta Gorda Town - hit 53-year-old Juan Chun, a teacher of Silver Creek Village who was on a motorbike.
Initial investigation has revealed that Ortega was on his way to Belmopan when his vehicle began sliding into the opposite lane at the curve, which led him to a head-on collision with Juan Chun. The impact of that accident threw Chun off his motorbike, and he died at the scene due to the severe injuries he suffered.
During this morning's briefing, Police spokesperson Fitzroy Yearwood shared what details were available several hours after the accident:
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood - Director of Communications, ComPol's Office

"Juan Chun, a 54-year-old teacher, was driving his motorbike somewhere around Big Falls village, approaching the bridge, when a driver, George Ortega, was driving a pickup in the opposite direction. It would appear that Ortega lost control of the pickup, fatally hitting Mr. Chun, who was flung somewhere off the road, into some nearby bushes. He died on the spot."
Ortega was detained and served with a notice of intended prosecution. Investigators have obtained a blood sample from him for testing. It is believed that at the time of the accident the paved road was wet. The weather also appeared as though a downpour had recently occurred.
