Earlier in the News, we told you about the vandals at the Civic and that they had yet to be caught, but new information is that a Special Patrol Unit's Operations team has made at least two arrests.

That patrol was driving through the back a town area when they saw smoke coming from the Civic Center's roof. That's when they found 3 people hiding on the side of the building but when questioned they refused to give away any additional actors.

That's when one police Corporal scaled the roof and found a 16-year-old hiding inside an AC vent and another boy coming out of a manhole on the roof of the building.

The officer then entered through the same manhole which is when he saw the damages and thereafter called the Civic's manager and the Crimes Investigations Branch.

And when all was said and done the officers had arrested 5 minors one 16-year-old, two 14-year-olds, and two thirteen-year-olds.

Digi Goes Red, White and Blue

BTL Digi has a new logo - and not surprisingly - it has a splash of blue in there. And while the design is a little bit on the nose - the new corporate slogan fits with that: "Our National Telecom" - and while it may sound a little statist, a press release say that the logo represents the company's focus and commitment to providing Belizeans with world class services."

The transition begins on July second.

Wasani Sprints For Fame

And COVID makes it hard for sporting competitions in Belize, so three young men saved up their money and are travelling across the US competing in various cycling races. Last month, we showed you Henry Li's win in the Tulsa Tough Race in Oklahoma. And over the weekend, Wasani Castro snagged first place in the 2021 Sunny King Criterium race in Alabama.

The men, under team Project Belize, have also participated in races in California, Wisconsin, and Chicago.
