The post mortem examination on Laddie Gillett was performed this morning and it says the 14 year old died of a quote, "single perforating gunshot wound to the chest". The pathologist Dr. Lloyden Ken did not specify whether the bullet entered the chest cavity through the front of the back - and many have taken it to mean that the teenager was shot from the front, rather than behind. But, the cause of death does not specify - it simply says a gunshot wound to the chest - meaning the chest cavity.
His Guardian Emil Bradley told us that he would be seeking clarity on this from Dr. Ken.
As we have been reporting, Laddie's companion at the time of his death, Thomas Palacio has stated clearly that he and Laddie were running away because they thought they were being targeted by robbers. Today, after we posted the post mortem results Palacio put this up on his instagram: "What kind of nonsense if this? They shot Laddie in the back."
While his family awaits clarity from the pathologist on just where the bullet entered and exited the young man's chest cavity - his family must now arrange a Covid - safe funeral for a boy whose death is being grieved - it seems - by the entire nation. We are told that funeral will most likely be held closer to the this week in Camalote village.
