This weekend, another high-end vehicle was stolen in the Cayo District, and the culprits drove it across the western border into Melchor.
7News has learned that this one, a 2016 Toyota Hilux Pickup truck, registered to a security company and belonging to the wife of the well-known police officer, Senior Superintendent Howell Gillett. It was stolen while it was parked in Blackman Eddy Village on Saturday evening. The vehicle was seen crossing over into Guatemala at the Santa Rosa Checkpoint - near Bullet Tree - which is kind of like the smuggling superhighway. BDF are seen in the area just sitting there as the truck passes by.
We are told that no official police report was made about the vehicle theft but active efforts are being made to recover it.
