36-year-old Brian Anthony Novelo lost his life in a fatal accident last night. It happened at about 2:10 a.m. near the San Estevan Roundabout in Orange Walk.

That's where Novelo, a maintenance worker, and Orangwalkeno was found on the side of the road with both head and body injuries - nearby there was a Geo motorcycle with damages.

Police say it was a hit and run. Our colleagues at CTV3 spoke with his stepfather earlier today.

"Last night he came here at around what should I tell you at about 8, we were seated here drinking but not like that. Afterward, he went to wake his little brother up in his room and he said you should go and buy more, because he drinks rum, and my other son, the one that's mine, drinks only beer. So, he told him to take this and buy me a six-pack. Then he said I want to talk to you because when he's drunk he calls me dad. When he's not, he calls me pa he told me that he wanted to talk to me and we were talking making jokes and everything. Then after 9:00 I told him Brian it's time for you to go home, but since the police were right down there I waited until the police left. And then I told him Brian there are police at your house, go. And that's when the police had just left. He was with another guy as well and the guy had only had maybe 3 beers, his friend. And then at 4:00 in the morning that guy came to advise me that Brian had an accident and I said no it can't be. He just left here, he was headed home."

Police are looking for the driver.
