And while the immigration department has its hand full with the alleged smuggling ring, the police department is investigating the death of a 20-year-old pregnant mother. Abrie Tuyul was expecting her second daughter to arrive next month, but on Saturday her body was found in her bathroom. At first glance, one might say it was suicide, but the neighbors became suspicious when they heard arguing and saw Tuyul's daughter sitting at the window crying for almost two hours. When Tuyul's common-law husband, 41-year-old Enrique Alamilla, came out of the locked apartment, he asked for a cigarette before even mentioning that his wife was dead. Today the police told us what they know so far, and Courtney Menzies has this story.
A pregnant mother found dead, signs of suicide, and a common-law husband who had been arguing with the victim - these are the puzzle pieces of a death investigation that the police must put together.
20-year-old Abrie Tuyul was 8 months pregnant - due to give birth in November, but her body was found on Saturday in her bathroom next to a hanger and a cloth. Her common-law told his neighbour it was suicide, but police aren't so sure:

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Initial investigation revealed that she was at home with her child and common law husband, where neighbors reported that they heard what appeared to be an argument going on between her and the common law."
"Sometime after five the common law came out the apartment that he had closed up and ask one of the neighbors for money to buy a smoke. At this time, he didn't mention anything about the whereabouts of his common law until a few minutes later when he said that she apparently hurt herself. Our investigators have detained him since and we are investigating this death from different angles. We believe that due to the nature leading up to her being discovered and that it has warrant us to believe that something other than suicide may have occurred. And as soon as investigators get to the bottom of it, I would be able to bring you up to date as to all findings."
Courtney Menzies:
"Does this couple have a history of arguments that get violent?"
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Well like I explained, investigators have interviewed some neighbors so far who would suggest that the couple argue on a regular basis, and it is believed that on Friday, climaxed and either which way that it went a life was lost."
A life lost, a child left without a mother, and a family who just wants answers that only a postmortem could provide.
Tuyul's family declined to speak at this time.
