And while that mother blames the police for her son's death, their communications officer, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood says that the incident, though unfortunate, was completely out of their hands.

"The initial report that we received is that he was approached by a SUV somewhere on Faber's Road Extension area where 2 men alighted the vehicle and open fire at him fatally causing his injury."
"We know that the investigators have several persons detained that they are questioning and hopefully we can bring some form of closure to the family. I must say that it's very unfortunate that this took place and we are very saddened by it."
