We have seen a letter from Everaldo Uk, who describes himself as the Newly Elected Chairman of the Corozal Sugar Cane Producers Association.

It's from today, and it is addressed to Vladimir Puck, the man who he - according to yesterday's result - has effectively been replaced. It's kinda like an eviction notice, and in this letter, Everaldo Uk informs Puck about the outcome of yesterday's special general meeting.

He then informs puck about his ascent to the chairmanship and who the other board members are now supposed to be.

Uk makes sure to note that quote, "Election was presided [over] by the Chairman of the Sugar Industry Control Board, Mr. Marcos Osorio. 121 members participated in the democratic process… We humbly request a smooth handing-over of our offices..."

Early reports from this morning suggested that Puck and the incumbent board were deliberately refusing to leave the office.

This afternoon, Vladimir Puck and the incumbent board hosted a press conference to answer questions about whether or not he is refusing to leave as some kind of last-minute protest.

He flatly denied that saying that he is indeed still chairman and that Uk would be presiding over this briefing if the entire membership of the association truly wanted that. Here's how he justified that position:
