And like the minor who was caught up in this incident, another man is recovering from a gunshot wound after he was hit this weekend - in the same general area.

It was early on Saturday morning - after the curfew hour - when a gunman targeted 26-year-old Alrick Lamb who was riding his bicycle.

The police haven't found a motive yet but ASP Yearwood said Lamb has had his fair share of run-ins with the law.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Sometime just after 1 o'clock, Alrick Lamb reported that he was riding his bicycle somewhere around the educational and resource center in Collet where he heard a vehicle approach him and as he attempted to turn into a lane, he heard what sounded like gunshots and realised that he was hit in his right thigh and ankle. He was transported to the KHMH where he is listed in a stable condition."

"The person in question, Mr Lamb, is no stranger to the law and we wouldn't want to say that it's an act of retaliation because he has his own problem in that area but what i can say is that we have amped up our patrols in the extension area, that extension area has come out of a dormant state and while we wouldn't want to compare that shooting to any other one we must say that the police presence over there is alarming to see that people are still trying to elude the law and commit their agenda at their own will. We want to let be known to them that we will not stop our patrols in the area and we will go hard and fast after them so it's up to them if they want to be caught up with the law or try to keep the peace."
